Company History
Creation Productions Limited was originally incorporated as a venture to create computer software and also television productions. The television production portion of the company was later divested and Creation Productions Ltd. shifted solely to the design and creation of computer software. A commission for the company to produce software for fast-tracking and scheduling industrial construction projects for a multi-national firm of construction quantity surveyors eventually led to the establishment of a division of Creation Productions Ltd. specializing in project management functions. Today, although we still produce some software relating to Project Controls, the focus of this division is on the provision of Project Controls services to medium and large scale industrial construction projects.
As well as project management software production, past commissions have included the development of software for Credit Unions in Nova Scotia and the company continues to develop financial modeling and analysis software to a client base that has grown to include other financial service providers, including provision of specialized software and consulting to the insurance industry.
An interesting footnote to the company history – during its first two years of operation, the company designed and constructed a mini-computer system which was known as the Creation 6502. This was a multiuser computer system incorporating 8 video terminals, a common hard drive data storage and 2 printers. Although only 1 was ever built, it did go into commercial service providing accounting functions for several small businesses and it was the platform on which the company first produced software, until it was replaced when the IBM PC style desktop computer became available.
